Emily S. Wall is a shareholder at Cavazos Hendricks Poirot, P.C. in Dallas, where her practice includes the representation of trustees, business debtors, asset-purchasers and creditors in bankruptcy courts and bankruptcy appeals. She began her bankruptcy practice representing consumer debtors in chapter 7and 13 cases. Ms. Wall is Special Projects Leader for ABI’s Mediation Committee, with which she first connected via ABI’s Virtual Happy Hours. She also is a board member of the Turnaround ManagementAssociation’s Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter and a member of its NextGen and Inclusion Committees, and she is a member of the State Bar of Texas Bankruptcy Section’s Young Lawyers Committee and of theJohn C. Ford American Inn of Court. A Fellow of the Dallas Bar Foundation, Ms. Wall previously served on the board of directors for the Dallas-Fort Worth Association of Young Bankruptcy Lawyers. In law school, she received ABI’s Medal of Excellence, competed in the ABI/St. John’s University School ofLaw Conrad B. Duberste in Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition, and was the Mississippi BankruptcyConference’s 2011 honoree. In addition, she was named a “Texas Rising Star” in business bankruptcy for 2019-21, regularly speaks on a variety of restructuring topics, and is a 2022 ABI “40 Under 40”honoree. Within her firm, Ms. Wall co-chairs planning the firm’s annual retreat and organizes a weekly session for lawyers during which they study recent case law developments and a variety of bankruptcy topics that impact insolvency practice. She received her B.A. in law, politics and society from TexasA&M University in 2008 and her J.D. from the Mississippi College of Law in 2011.
