Gordon E. Gouveia is the managing member of Gouveia & Associates in Merrillville, Ind., where he works to resolve bankruptcy issues from multiple perspectives as both an attorney and certified civil mediator for Indiana. He has also served as a chapter 7 trustee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Indiana since 1979. Mr. Gouveia chairs the Lake County Bar Association's Bank- ruptcy Law Section and is a member of the Standing Committee on Practice and Procedures of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Indiana. He is Board Certified in both Business and Con- sumer Bankruptcy law by the American Board of Certification. Mr. Gouveia received his J.D. in 1970 from Valparaiso University.
