Vincent F. Alexander, CFE is a partner in the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., office of Shutts & Bowen LLP and a member of its Creditors’ Rights and Bankruptcy Practice Group. He is an experienced restructuring lawyer, litigator and trial attorney. He focuses his practice on bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, out-of-court restructurings, distressed-asset sales and insolvency-related matters. Mr. Alexander regularly represents debtors, creditors, equity holders, trustees and other fiduciaries, individuals, businesses and unsecured creditors’ committees in chapter 7, 11 and 15 bankruptcy proceedings and related litigation, including avoidance actions and claim disputes. He also has experience successfully representing clients across a wide range of industries in complex litigation matters, including fraud, trade secret and restrictive covenants, breach of contract, unfair and deceptive trade practices, fiduciary issues, officer and director, sports and entertainment, and judgment domestication and enforcement. He represents his clients in restructuring work and complex commercial litigation cases in state and federal courts throughout Florida and the U.S. Before becoming a lawyer, Mr. Alexander was a linebacker in the NFL with the New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals, and was a mortgage banker for a large national lender. He received his B.A. in economics and commerce in 2003 from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. cum laude in 2009 from the University of Miami School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and the Order of the Barristers.
