Nicholas S. Laue
Keller & Almassian, PLC, Grand Rapids, MINICHOLAS is a partner at Keller & Almassian, PLC in Grand Rapids, Mich., where his practice includes representing creditors, lenders, debtors and asset-buyers in both the consumer and corporate bankruptcy arenas. He regularly represents clients in state and federal commercial litigation matters. He also has considerable experience representing clients in adversary proceedings before the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Michigan. Before joining Keller & Almassian, PLC, he was an attorney for the Michigan Court of Appeal’s Research Division.
Nicholas has been featured in Grand Rapids Magazine as a top lawyer in the area of bankruptcy law since 2022, and he has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Bankruptcy Law since 2022. He also is a speaker and contributor to the Institute of Continuing Legal Education in Michigan, and over the last two years he has served as an adjunct professor at Grand Valley State University, teaching legal studies to incoming freshmen and commercial law to juniors and graduating seniors. The adjunct professor position is one his favorite parts of practicing law, as it allows him to develop young students into future leaders.
In addition to speaking formally at seminars and conferences, Nicholas is a former president of the Business Networking Institute of Grand Rapids Business Connections, and he chairs the social committee of the Grand Rapids Bar. He also takes on pro bono work and has represented consumer debtors seeking chapter 7 discharges. In addition, he assists the Western District of Michigan by representing prisoners on a pro bono basis who are seeking relief in the district court from the Michigan Department of Corrections.
