Mr. Nicholas Campbell

NICK is co-founder and managing partner of turnaround and restructuring firm MERU. His expertise is in transforming underperforming and distressed companies through operational and financial restructurings, including chapter 11 and out-of-court restructurings. He specializes in formulating and evaluating strategic business plans and capital structures, identifying operational and organizational issues, and serving in interim-management roles. His typical clients are comprised of middle-market companies with annualized revenues of between $50 million and $2 billion. His experience spans the manufacturing, aerospace, technology, energy, education, construction, consumer packaged goods, transportation, homebuilding, retail, gaming and financial services industries.Nick found his professional calling at the age of 21, when his first turnaround hit very close to home. A string of unfortunate circumstances had landed his family’s insurance brokerage at his feet, and he was tasked with saving his family’s livelihood and legacy. A determined and exhausting year later, he managed to right the ship and turn over the business to his brother.Nick has been on the board of TMA Global in Atlanta, a co-founder and chair of Global NextGen and the TMA Global NextGen Leadership Conference, a judge for the 13th ABI/AIRA Corporate Restructuring Competition at The Wharton School, a mentor for the University of Georgia’s Entrepreneurship Accelerator program, and a member of the TMA Global Awards Committee.Beyond establishing his own firm in 2017, Nick has since started and assisted with multiple start-ups, and he recently partnered with Georgia Tech’s data science school (#1 in the U.S.) to develop a first-of-its-kind algorithm using public data to predict distress in private companies.
