BakerHostetler LLP, New York, NY

CAMILLE is an associate and concentrates her practice in the areas of bankruptcy, financial restructuring and commercial litigation. She has experience in litigation arising out of corporate insolvencies, including in fraudulent-transfer, negligent-misrepresentation and wrongful-redemption cases, and has represented debtors, creditors and other interested parties in a variety of industries. She currently represents Irving H. Picard, Securities Investor Protection Act (SIPA) trustee for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities, LLC.

Camille’s work as a summer associate led her to specialize in insolvency law. When she graduated law school during the height of the Great Recession and associate hiring had dried up, she served as a law fellow at the New York City Bankruptcy Assistance Project, a division of Legal Services NYC that provides free bankruptcy assistance to low-income residents of New York City.

Camille is a member of the 2019 National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges: Next Generation program and received the 2019 Bronx Power Women in Business award, and she co-chairs the New York City Bar Association’s Bankruptcy & Corporate Reorganization Committee and Fraudulent Conveyance Subcommittee. In addition, she has worked with the New York City Law Department’s Public Service Program, conducting and defending depositions in tort cases ranging from individual damages to multiparty litigation, and she revised and updated a nonprofit organization’s guide to federal and state employment rights for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking. She also volunteers her time as a board member of Directions for Our Youth and co-founded a nonprofit organization aimed at improving the pipeline for black attorneys in big law firms. In addition, she volunteers for CARE (Credit Abuse Resistance Education), having presented multiple times at North Central Bronx Hospital, where she talks to pregnant teen mothers about thoughtful financial decision-making, planning and saving.
