ASHLEY is a partner and has successfully represented creditors in all aspects of commercial debt collection and loss mitigation, including loan restructuring, bankruptcy, litigation and post-judgment execution. Her clients include Fortune 500 companies, national, regional and community banks, nontraditional lenders, finance companies, lessors and manufacturers. She also advises and represents clients from various industries in the purchase and sale of assets in § 363 sales, chapter 11 plan confirmation, and the assumption and rejection of contracts. In particular, she has experience defending national companies against preference and fraudulent-transfer actions in a wide variety of jurisdictions. She also represents clients in a broad range of business litigation in federal and state courts, as well as mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution, and has defended principals and officers in derivatives lawsuits and against claims of fraud, embezzlement and racketeering. In addition, she is experienced in issues related to insider trading and corporate structure.

Ashley is admitted to practice before all U.S. Bankruptcy and District Courts in North Carolina and Georgia, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Prior to joining Parker Poe, she clerked for Hon. J. Craig Whitley of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of North Carolina. She serves on the advisory board of ABI’s Southeast Bankruptcy Workshop and was recognized recently as one of the “50 Most Influential Women” in the greater Charlotte metro area by The Mecklenburg Times. In addition, she was chosen to participate in the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges’ NextGen Program.

Ashley is a member of Parker Poe's Pro Bono Committee and averages more than 80 hours of pro bono services each year, focusing her pro bono work with North Carolina's Guardian ad Litem program, through which she represents abused and neglected children. She is also passionate about helping working moms feel confident as mothers and young professionals, and is a mentor.
