Mr. Nicholas Zluticky

NICK is a partner with the firm’s Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights group and represents a broad range of clients in all facets of bankruptcy, receiverships, foreclosures, out-of-court workouts and restructurings. Leveraging experience he gained from working on some of the largest bankruptcy cases in the country, including representing the debtor in a large bankruptcy dubbed a “Transaction of the Year” by the Turnaround Management Association, he represents clients in all aspects of bankruptcy cases, including debtors, secured lenders, asset-purchasers, trustees and creditors’ committees. He also has represented more than 50 lenders across the country in all areas of workouts and enforcement of commercial loans, including receiverships, foreclosures, replevins, collection actions and lender-liability litigation.

Nick currently serves on the Ad Hoc Advisory Committee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Western District of Missouri, and works with the court and the U.S. Trustee on feedback and suggestions for local rules and related matters. He also serves on the advisory board for ABI’s and UMKC’s Midwestern Bankruptcy Institute, regularly speaks at ABI conferences, and has published articles in the ABI Bankruptcy Litigation Committee e-newsletter and in JD Supra. In addition, he has been recognized in the Kansas City community as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” since 2012.

Nick became interested in the insolvency field at a young age, when he was working as a clerk and runner for a chapter 7 trustee at the age of 16. He now focuses on mentoring young lawyers at his firm, as well as in the Kansas City bankruptcy community. He also has held leadership positions within the firm, serving on committees focused on managing electronic data, implementing better policies on sharing bankruptcy knowledge and research with fellow bankruptcy partners, developing a firm blog on the latest bankruptcy topics, and taking an active role in hiring and mentoring new associates for his group.
