ADAM is a partner at Baker & Partners (George Town, Grand Cayman) and focuses on insolvency, restructuring, asset-recovery and dispute-resolution. He was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in Canada (Nova Scotia) in 2011 and as an attorney-at-law in the Cayman Islands in 2018. He focuses primarily on complex and cross-border insolvency, restructuring, asset-recovery and dispute-resolution matters. He has acted in some of the most prominent insolvency and dispute-resolution matters in the Cayman Islands. In addition, he has served as a panelist at ABI’s Annual Spring Meeting, Cross-Border Insolvency Program and International Insolvency Forum, and he moderated two International Insolvency Institute NextGen Program webinars on cross-border aviation insolvencies in 2020.

Adam is actively involved in and holds various leadership positions with leading international insolvency organizations. He serves as Newsletter Editor of ABI’s International Committee, serves on INSOL’s Small Practice Group Committee, and is a member of the Turnaround Management Association’s NextGen Committee and the Recovery and Insolvency Specialists Association (Cayman)’s Membership & Communication Committee. He was recognized by Benchmark Litigation (Latin America) as a Litigation Star in 2021 and 2020 and as a Future Star in 2019, and by Benchmark Litigation (Canada) as a Future Star in 2018, and he was named to Benchmark Litigation’s 40 & Under Hot List (Canada and United States) in 2017 and 2018.

Adam mentors associates at his firm, and is inspired by the global nature of the profession and the ability to work and engage with insolvency professionals all over the world. In 2021, he joined the Truman Bodden Law School (Cayman Islands) on a volunteer basis to prepare and teach its newly introduced Professional Practice Course module on Insolvency, which is aimed at preparing Caymanian law school graduates to practice insolvency law when they commence their practice as trainee attorneys. He and other Cayman Islands legal professionals are in the early stages of redeveloping the Professional Practice Course, with a view toward improving the training and development of new Caymanian lawyers seeking admission as attorneys in the Cayman Islands.
