Ameneh Bordi
Sidley Austin LLP, Washington, D.C.AMENEH is a senior managing associate with Sidley Austin LLP’s Restructuring Department in Washington, D.C. She has been responsible for overseeing the execution of many complex, high-pressure restructurings, and regularly advises distressed companies in all aspects of corporate governance, litigation, financings, strategic alternatives, operations, contracts and risk-management. She also maintains an active stakeholder-side practice, including advising lenders, sponsors and other players in financings, litigation and dispute-resolution, risk-management, design of downside protections, and enforcement of rights and remedies. Prior to joining Sidley, she was a restructuring associate at another major global law firm, where she oversaw significant restructurings on both the company and creditor sides. She also served as in-house counsel to a major technology company, supporting the global expansion and public policy team of its cloud business.
Ameneh was recognized among the 2026 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America® list for Litigation–Bankruptcy. She is a member of the 2023 class of the International Insolvency Institute’s NextGen Leadership Program, is a frequent speaker on panels and a contributor to articles, and was a contributing editor of the Norton Journal of Bankruptcy Law & Practice.
Ameneh is a leader in associate recruiting, having spearheaded the growth of the summer associate class from two to more than 10 per year over the past three years. In addition, she is the group’s centralizing attorney for associate training, practice management and resource-development functions. Alongside her client practice and internal management responsibilities, she maintains an active pro bono practice, including on general corporate advice, low-income divorce and small claims court advice, immigration matters, and election support.
