Morris Alhale

AlixPartners, LLP, New York

MO is a director in the Turnaround & Restructuring practice at AlixPartners, LLP and a senior member of the firm’s Healthcare & Life Sciences industry practice. He has more than 12 years of experience as a restructuring advisor and has provided leadership to companies, boards of directors, lenders and other interested parties in all stages of restructuring transactions, from in-court reorganizations to out-of-court restructurings. He focuses on finding and implementing complex restructuring solutions that are value-maximizing for all stakeholders, and he considers his greatest challenge and accomplishment to date to be guiding Mallinckrodt in its chapter 11 filing through its confirmation and multiple appeals. He was a senior advisor to Mallinckrodt and played a key role in its opioid settlement negotiations, which provided $1.75 billion to opioid plaintiffs. He worked with counsel on plan confirmation, and supported both unfair discrimination and best interest arguments.

A first-generation American, Mo watched his father start his own company and persevere through many challenges to create a successful business. Similarly, he attributes his success as a product not only of hard work and dedication to his clients, but also the support and diversity of his team. He received an Achievement in Excellence award for his work as a senior advisor and interim treasurer at a private consumer products company, helping the client manage liquidity during its operational turnaround. In addition, he hosted a panel on mass torts and third-party releases and published an article in the Journal of Corporate Renewal.

Mo serves on AlixPartners’ Onboarding & Development Committee, through which he supports onboarding initiatives for new hires and developed a training course on waterfall recovery analysis that is available to professionals in the firm’s Turnaround & Restructuring practice. He also participates in pro bono initiatives to mentor entrepreneurs where he works with small business owners to help them address financing issues or manage creditor disputes. He is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor and a member of ABI, the Turnaround Management Association and the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors. He is also a member of the UJA NextGen Restructuring committee, through which he supports the Jewish community in New York and the restructuring community.
