Mr. Bradley Giordano

McDermott Will & Emery, Chicago, IL

BRADLEY is a partner and represents debtors, equity sponsors, lender groups, creditors and strategic investors in all aspects of in-court and out-of-court restructurings. He advises senior managers and boards of directors on operating in chapter 11, fiduciary-duty considerations and strategic restructuring alternatives. He also advises credit and private-equity fund clients in connection with strategic acquisitions or dispositions of distressed assets. His restructuring experience includes complex multijurisdictional and cross-border matters, spanning multiple industries including health care, retail, energy, technology, hospitality, media, airlines, aircraft manufacturing, telecom and heavy machinery.

Brad’s to becoming an insolvency professional is its own restructuring story. While he had initially planned to work on M&A transactions, he found himself pivoting toward working on a large influx of restructuring work coinciding with the Great Recession. He continued with the restructuring work because he enjoyed the challenge of finding consensus among diverging interests, the ability to craft creative solutions to complex problems, and the reward of saving jobs by helping struggling companies recover.

Brad received recognition in the The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch 2021 for Bankruptcy and Creditor/Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law, and moderated a panel at ABI’s 2020 Health Care Program on current issues in behavioral health. In addition, he enjoys seeking mentoring opportunities, both informally and through formal channels, and often mentors junior associates as well as volunteers time to students seeking a career in law. He is frequently invited by both his undergraduate and law school alma maters to discuss students’ career and educational goals. He also volunteers his time to help distressed local small business interests.
