ERIC focuses his practice on all aspects of commercial litigation, financial restructuring and bankruptcy in the firm’s Bankruptcy & Restructuring Group and has represented debtors, creditors, asset-purchasers, examiners and trustees in bankruptcy proceedings throughout the country. He also has significant experience in the health care industry. Notably, he represented the debtors/petitioners in the RadLAX case before the U.S. Supreme Court, and was lead counsel for the successful stalking-horse bidder in the Health Diagnostics Laboratory (HDL) case, which was awarded the 2016 Restructuring Deal of the Year (Under $100M) by M&A Advisor.

Eric was nominated to the 2013 Next Generation Class for the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges (NCBJ). He has published numerous articles on issues of bankruptcy and appellate law, and has spoken at various bankruptcy conferences. He currently co-chairs ABI’s Real Estate Committee and serves on the advisory board for ABI’s Central States Bankruptcy Workshop.

Eric is an active member of the firm’s Associates & Counsel Committee and actively mentors young associates. In addition, his pro bono service was recognized with a Certificate of Appreciation for Exceptional Pro Bono Service for his work in representing a struggling Chicago abstract artist to help rescue his artwork back from a bankruptcy trustee for a failed consignment store. He also regularly makes presentations for the firm’s in-house training program to share his knowledge with young associates.
