Mr. Evan Zucker

EVAN is a senior associate in the firm’s Finance, Bankruptcy and Restructuring group and concentrates his practice on corporate reorganizations and related complex litigation in national and cross-border matters. He frequently represents foreign representatives in chapter 15 proceedings, creditors’ committees, secured creditors, executory contract parties, and other key parties in interest. He currently represents a number of foreign receivers in connection with their asset-tracing and recovery efforts, including the enforcement of judgments arising from complex cross-border financial fraud. In addition, he is an adjunct professor at St. John’s University School of Law, where he teaches writing and bankruptcy practice.

Evan was the principal draftsperson of a Special Report published by INSOL International in March 2019 on UNCITRAL’s recently adopted Model Law on Recognition and Enforcement of Insolvency Related Judgments. He also has published several other articles on such topics as asset-tracing, court-to-court communication and cryptocurrency in the context of bankruptcy cases. He is a member of the International Insolvency Institute’s NextGen Class VII, the Chapter 11 Advisory Committee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Eastern District of New York, and the Junior Lawyer Training Initiative for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Eastern District of New York, and was recognized as a Rising Star in New York Metro Super Lawyers from 2014-18.

Evan coordinated a panel for ABI’s International Insolvency & Restructuring Symposium and developed and drafted a number of the simulations used in ABI’s 40-Hour Mediation Training Program. In addition, he is a member of the ABI Law Review Alumni Association and mentors law students, having also served as co-director of the annual ABI/St. John’s University School of Law Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition. He also co-chairs Blank Rome LLP’s New York Pro Bono Committee and is a member of the firm’s associate committee, and he recently received his firm’s Pro Bono Hero Award for outstanding pro bono service.
