Swapna is a managing director and provides strategic, operational and financial solutions to distressed and nondistressed companies and their creditors and investors, as well as sell-side advisory services. Her experience includes work with public and private companies across several industries, including entertainment, retail, outdoor media, technology, telecom, clean energy and manufacturing. Prior to joining Ankura, she was a member of FTI Consulting’s corporate finance & restructuring practice, with a focus on the telecom, media & technology industries.

One of Swapna’s most rewarding experiences was being a Girl Scout Troop Leader in New York City, where she helped nurturing young girls as future leaders. She is a board member of the University of Wisconsin Alumni Association’s New York City Chapter and a volunteer judge for briefs and preliminary rounds at annual Duberstein Moot Court Competitions.

Swapna is fully engaged in the development of early career professionals, including through mentoring and continuing education. She is also one of the founding members of the firm’s restructuring women’s initiative, which is focused on developing and networking of the firm’s female professionals in restructuring. Additionally, anticipating an uptick in chapter 11 filings and seeing a need for best practices in these cases, she recently created a business plan for Ankura’s Bankruptcy Preparation and Post-Filing Case Management practice, and she was named to head the venture.
