MONIQUE is a partner in the firm’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Department and concentrates her practice on a broad range of commercial bankruptcy, workout and restructuring matters in which she represents debtors, trade creditors, landlords, equityholders and other parties. She has served as counsel in many large and complex chapter 11 cases over the years, representing clients in a range of industries including health care, manufacturing, distribution, retail, hospitality, and construction and real estate development. She also has served as lead or co-counsel to numerous chapter 11 debtors. In addition, she has served as a member of the firm’s Associate’s Committee, and currently serves as a member of the firm’s Hiring Committee. She also chairs the firm’s Summer Associate Program and mentors younger attorneys in the firm.
Monique formerly served as a judicial intern for Hon. Donald H. Steckroth of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. She has been recognized as a leading lawyer in Chambers USA and as a “Rising Star” in Super Lawyers. She also frequently publishes articles on the subject of bankruptcy and restructuring law in a variety of publications, and serves as an associate editor for the ABI Journal.
Monique volunteers on several boards and committees in the bankruptcy and restructuring industry. She currently serves as vice president of Membership for the Philadelphia/Wilmington Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association and serves on TMA’s Global Committee for the Networking Organization of Women. She also is a past chair of ABI’s Young & New Members Committee, a member and past chair of the Future Leaders Committee of the New York Institute of Credit, and a board member of the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project of Philadelphia (CBAP), a nonprofit organization in the Philadelphia area that provides pro bono assistance to indigent individuals seeking chapter 7 bankruptcy protection.
